There were 201 visits in 2020 with a total of 143 different species recorded by 3 observers throughout the year (by comparison 53 species were recorded in 2019 from 14 visits). Mersea Island was the 2nd most recorded location in Essex in 2020. Highlights during the year included Black Brant, Black Guillemot, Crane, Great White Egret, Honey Buzzard, Raven, White-tailed Eagle. 18 species had more records at Mersea Island than any other location.
